Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
In short: Ondu doesn’t collect any data about you. The apps talk only to your own music server. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party.
This policy covers the Ondu apps for iPhone and Mac and this website. Ondu is made by Max (“I”, “me”).
What the apps collect
Nothing. The apps contain no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting services, and no third-party code that sends data anywhere. I have no way to see who uses Ondu or how.
What’s stored on your device
- Your server address and username, and your sign-in details, which are kept in the system Keychain.
- A copy of your library: artist, album, song and playlist information, plus artwork.
- Any music you download for offline listening.
- Your settings and playback queue.
This stays in the app’s private storage on your device. Signing out removes your library and downloads, and deleting the app removes everything.
What’s sent to your server
The apps send the following information to your server, and only to that server:
- Your username and password when you sign in.
- Requests for your library, artwork and music.
- Play counts, so the server knows what you’ve listened to. You can turn this off in Settings.
- Changes you make to playlists.
The server is run by you. How that server stores and handles data is up to the person running it, not me.
Local network access
The apps may ask for permission to use your local network. That’s only so they can reach a server on your home network. They don’t scan for or connect to other devices.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics or trackers. It’s hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may log visitors’ IP addresses for security, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.
Children
Ondu doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
